Malacca, Malaysia- In this part of the Malacca Food Series, we went off the beaten path and got some of the traditional snacks that Malaysians usually get on a casual weekend. From traditional Malaysian cakes to refreshing Coconut Shakes, this is a video not to be missed.
East & West Rendezvous - This little shop tucked away in a tiny alleyway is home to the best Nyonya Rice Dumplings in all of Malacca. At such an affordable price, this nice little lunch snack is a Malaysian classic, stuffed to the brim with spices and meat that can be smelled a mile away. Colorful in appearance and delicious in taste, this rice dumpling is a must try in Malacca.

Baba Charlie Nyonya Cake- Unfortunately, if you want to get their kuehs fresh in the morning, you're going to have to come right on the dot when it opens. Although we didn't quite get to try all their kuehs, we did get the chance to try their Ondeh Ondeh and Kueh Dadar, two kuehs that they make on the spot. Despite the almost two hour wait, this was easily one of the best snacks in Malaysia, and there is good reason for such a long wait. The sweetness of the coconut isn't overpowered by the sugar but rather stands out due to the saltiness and freshness of the ingredients being used.

Klebang Original Coconut Shake- Another place that will get you waiting in line for hours, this little shop is home to the "Original Coconut Shake". While some people might not find anything special with it, I love the vanilla ice cream on the top of the drink that just melts into the coconut shake, creating a vanilla-coconut combination that is refreshing on a hot Malaysian day.
