The Rivers form a city’s lifeline and no other populated and progressive city in the state can boast of having Tapi River running through it. Tapi
riverfront in Surat City is a multi-functional riverfront with majority of premises being used as Irrigation, Industrial Recreational purposes. The water
quality of the Tapi River is very low due to a large amount of untreated sewage being let into the river. The project work aims to carrying out suitable
river-training works and measures to reduce the river pollution, restore and maintain the river ecosystem as well as riparian ecosystem. The aim of
this project would be transform Surat as a unique cultural platform with recreational and entertainment facilities serving the city.
