STORYLINE:
A large forest fire continued to burn on Tuesday on top of mount Zelengora in Bosnia's Sutjeska National Park.
The fire, that broke out two days ago, has destroyed trees and forest that had been untouched for hundreds of years.
Authorities said no residential areas were in danger.
With the help of Bosnian army helicopters the fire department was trying to contain the fire from the air, officials said, as approaching the mountainous area on foot was difficult.
The Bosnian government has asked neighboring Serbia and Croatia for aerial assistance to help extinguish the blaze.
Helicopters and planes from Serbia and Croatia were expected to arrive later on Tuesday.
