In this lecture we take a look at John Stuart Mill's influential work "on liberty" in which he argues for the importance of liberty and lays emphasis on the 3 types of liberty: freedom of speech and expression, freedom of action and freedom of association. In addition to this, we look at certain characteristics of his concept of liberty and criticism by Barker.
