This video goes over the difference between Copper ethernet and fiber ethernet for high speed ethernet networking (10 GbE, 40 GbE, even 100 GbE). Fiber is much more efficient at transmitting, and therefor has a much lower power draw vs copper ethernet. Because of this fiber networking gear, especially speed, is often much cheaper than the copper counterpart.
