Ayyaappa Seva Samiti Vasai (SASS), a Registered Charitable Trust, fully dedicated to serving humanity without distinction of caste, race, orreligion in Vasai since its inception in the early 1970s. As Vasai has turned out in to a metropolitan suburban township of Mumbai City due to spur in developments and immigration of population, the Samiti also progressed and in the process spread out its activities. A} To promote Spiritual Movements, based on Sana Thana Dharma and fostering of communal and social amity in the society. B) To establish and run health centres, educational and Spiritual institutions, human welfare projects, community hall etc. C} To render selfless services to humanity through devotional means. D) To spread and practice universal love and affections through teaching to all people. E) To facilitate and promote talents in literary, cultural, artistic, scientific, medical, spiritual, educational, technological and sports field.
SABARIGIRI TEMPLE
Sree Sabarigiri Temple was consecrated on 5th February 1995 by the late Thantri revered Kallur Narayanan Namboothiripad is a rare monument in Vasai, SASS being an institution fully committed for communal harmony could create a peaceful and Harmonious co-existence among the residence of the locality in real sprit and Temple has turned out to be one of best platforms for the same as the presiding deity is Swamy Ayyappaan who has been worshipped by people from all walks of life irrespective of their caste,creed,and religion. Temple stands as a legacy of our ancient culture, where devotees come everyday to offer their prayers. During Mandala Pooja season, special pooja, Bhajan, annadhanam, prayeduppu etc are conducted regularly. Every year Mandala Pooja programme concludes with procession of Lord Sree Ayyappa, Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna all around vasai west area with all tradional rituals, in temple Bhagvat Saptaham is also arranged every year in last 22 years, inviting famous Acharyas from Kerala. The year 2019 Samiti suspended all its Celebrations due to Covid-19 guidelines and instructions as per Government of Maharashtra.
