Often, when people feel pain in their front knee during lunges, it has nothing to do with their knee.
I know that sounds like a ridiculous thing to say, but hear me out.
When your hip doesn't stabilize properly, it allows the knee to collapse in towards the other knee.
Over time, this movement can become painful. And, as I talk about in the motor control video, this movement can become learned and then it happens all the time AND feels normal.
