Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with the emir of Kuwait on Sunday, to discuss ways to end the diplomatic crisis in the gulf region. Kuwait's Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah has been mediating the dispute. Erdogan had earlier held talks with the king of neighbouring Saudi Arabia. Erdogan is due to travel to Qatar later on Monday. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain cut ties and transport links with Qatar in early June, accusing it of supporting extremists. Qatar strongly denies the allegations levelled against it.
