Happy 2018 guys! To celebrate the birth of the new year we joined over 100,000 Koreans and foreigners at Bosingak Pavilion for the ringing of the massive bell housed there.
In ancient days, the bell would ring every day to signal the opening and closing of the city gates. Nowadays, Koreans gather on New Year's Eve to hear it ring in the new year.
This was an awesome experience and we highly recommend you attend next year! Though, don't do what we did and arrive 7 hours early. Getting to the pavilion just 2 hours early should be sufficient to secure a good spot in the crowd.
Best of luck in the new year everyone!!!
PS: Sorry for for the buzzing/ringing during the video! Our mic was getting some nasty interference out there 😝
