Joona Vatanen wins the Northern Streetbike Freestyle championship KURLAND STUNT 2016
The well known one of the world’s most extreme Finnish stunt rider- Joona Vatanen has won the Northern Streetbike Freestyle championship KURLAND STUNT 2016 which took place on July 30, 2016 in Ventspils, Latvia. The championship was a part of the annual Ghetto Games festival.
KURLAND STUNT 2016 gathered seventeen most powerful stunt riders from seven countries. Championship was judged by the three notorious stunt riders: Jānis Rozītis (LV) first time in his career holding the head-judge position, Virginus Žukauskas from Lithuania and the best stunt rider from Ukraine- Jury Driftofsky.
The twelve best stunt riders were allowed to go to finals after qualifications. The best six stunt riders received impressive monetary awards. The honorary pedestal was taken by the best three stunt riders: Joona Vatanen (FIN), Adam Peschel (CZ) un Pawel Karbownik (PL). Participates were also awarder for the „Sickest extreme” and “Best crash“ where prizes went to Pawel Karbownik (PL) and Niko Sakkinen (FIN) accordingly.

Jānis Rozītis was also very excited about the only Latvian rider- Didzis Grundulis who also performed very well considering the world’s leading level stunt rider’s competition!
Also significant moments experienced spectators on the break when Andris Grīnfelds (LV) – the best moto-trial rider in Baltics performed a trial show and in its closing he made a jump over Ferrari where were sitting the Major of Ventspils city- Aivars Lembergs and the father of the Ghetto Games- Raimonds Elbakjans!
