Rashid Minhas was born on 17 February 1951, in Karachi, after some time they shifted to Rawalpindi. He gets his early education from St Mary's Cambridge School Rawalpindi. Minhas was fascinated with aviation history and technology. He used to collect different models of aircraft and jets. He also attended St Patrick's High School. He entered the PAF School in Lower Topa in 1968, the Air Force's officer candidate school, and Complete his Military training in 1969. He joined the air force on 13 March 1971 and died on 20 August 1971.
