BEDMAS Song Lyrics
————————————
Let’s look at the order of maths operations.
It’s very important to learn.
It takes a complex expression of numbers
And simplifies each bit in turn.
Firstly look hard for all brackets that group
Some numbers that hide well inside,
Work out the answer and write it back down
Replacing the bracketed sides.
Next you look out for exponents or powers,
That’s small numbers up to the right.
Evaluate these and write them back down,
Prepare to move from left to right.
Now as you move from the left of your page
Divide or just multiply.
Work out the answers as you go along
Then one more quick step to abide.
Start from the left with addition in mind
And also subtraction at hand.
Bring numbers together now one at a time
Until finally your answer is grand.
Remember it’s -
Brackets first
Then come Exponents
Division or Multiplication
Then you quite simply just
Add or Subtract
To end with your answer’s creation.
