Potatoes Readily Sprout! Even grocery store ones. Sprouting your potatoes (also known as chitting), is only half the process though. Once sprouted, you have to remove the individual new plants from the potatoes (each potato will have more than one) and either plant them straight into the garden, weather permitting, or into small pots like we're going to do today!
