After two years the long awaited Open Day at The Istana returned. The Istana is the office of the President of Singapore and is used to entertain state guests.

After cueing for a short while, we were in. The grounds are vast and contain several themed gardens to walk around before you reach the house itself which seems to sit on a hill and look out over the city. Once inside we saw large lawns with grass so perfect Aspen wasn’t sure if it was real or not. Tall trees blocking the surrounding high rises from view gives an open view of the grounds and the sky, something not so easy to find in Singapore’s city.
