After the early passing of my dad from cancer, I took care of my little mom, Phyllis (whom I called Shorty), in one way or another for the next 20 years. In the end, she passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. It was an honor to be her caregiver, along with amazing support from the staff at the Masonic Health Care Center in Elizabethtown, PA, in the final years. In her lifetime, she did and achieved so many things, including being the winner, as a child, of the Shirley Temple tap dancing contest in Oregon, a business owner, singer in my dad's 18-piece orchestra, and being a mom. She loved my music as only a mother could. She is missed.
