The US state of Arizona has reinstated a 160-year-old near-total abortion ban which could see doctors imprisoned up to five years, unless the procedure is medically necessary to save a mother's life.
In just two weeks, abortion will be outlawed in Arizona from the moment of conception with no exception for rape or incest.
The 1864 abortion ban was introduced before Arizona became a state and before women had the right to vote.
