Dark elbows, knees, and knuckles is common and normal in skin of color, but may worsen from dead skin buildup along chronic friction overtime.

You can sub tret with adapalene; urea cream in 10-20% range is most helpful but any urea formulation will be beneficial. Both are available via prescription, drugstores, or online.
