Dough
All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Water - 1 cup, warm
Salt - ½ tsp
Ghee - ½ cup, meltedFilling
Pork - 1 lb, ground
Onions - 2, chopped
Salt - 1 tsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Black pepper - ½ tspEgg - 1 yolk
Water - 1 tsp
Sesame seeds
PERSONAL NOTE ✒️
Samsy (or Samsa) is a very popular street food in Kyrgyzstan and many Central Asian countries. They are savory pastries stuffed with meat (I used pork, but you can use other meats) and vegetables. It is always baked. Traditionally, they’re cooked in a tandoor, which is a special clay oven. Of course, you can bake them in a regular oven. Samsy is a fantastic snack that goes well with so many other foods. I will surely repeat this dish - 😋 Highly recommend!
