Nestled within the historic Asa Sul district, which saw its inception by President Juscelino Kubitschek in 1960, the Casa Brasileira apartment, spanning 110m², embarked on a dramatic transformation under the creative guidance of Umdiedro Arquitetura. The result is a contemporary, vibrant, and inviting space tailored to the desires of a young couple enamored with Brasília. This project brought about not only a modern facelift but also introduced an identity that beautifully merges with the clients' cultural roots.
The apartment underwent a comprehensive renovation, which included structural adjustments and reconfigurations of spaces. The changes encompassed the kitchen, one of the bedrooms, and two bathrooms, resulting in a fresh, functional, and up-to-date layout. Let's delve into the intricacies of this remarkable project.
Vivid transformations characterized the project. The journey began with identifying the clients' specific needs and pondering creative ways to fulfill them. In this spirit, the design firm decided to take a bold leap by introducing a sweeping transformation in the living room.
Colors play an integral role in this project, acting as focal points that subtly define distinct zones within the apartment. The kitchen is defined by its striking blue theme, the tiles feature vibrant yellow hues, while the dining area exudes a warm wooden palette. The living room and office areas, on the other hand, adopt a serene gray scheme.
Structural adjustments involved reconfiguring the walls to expand the living room. This opened up space for a stylish counter, promoting seamless integration between living areas and offering a delightful setting for entertaining friends. The former kitchen area has been transformed into a dining space, providing an exquisite treetop view. Notably, the design features the strategic exposure of a hydraulic installation detail, with bold accents in red to enhance its visibility. Adjacent to the kitchen, a pipe from the apartment's grease trap was creatively repurposed, wrapped in insulation to dampen noise and adorned with a sleek metal finish, allowing accessibility for future maintenance.
The powder room was revamped with meticulous attention to detail, displaying a fusion of colors, decorative artwork, and a Provencal-style sink. These elements draw inspiration from the clients' diverse experiences and global travels, creating an eclectic yet harmonious ambiance.
In the intimate quarters for the couple, the old bathroom and service area were ingeniously converted into a spacious closet. This transformation involved relocating the master suite's bathroom. Here, a minimalist approach prevails, favoring neutral aesthetics that encompass gray walls, floors, ceilings, and brushed granite surfaces. Delicate black accents, present in fixtures and lighting, provide subtle contrasts and unify the space. The objective was to create a tranquil and comfortable environment that seamlessly aligns with the apartment's overall design and the clients' unique identity.
