In May 2014, a special exhibit at the University of Alaska Museum of the North will explore the ice-choked waters of the polar regions and investigate the science made possible by this ice-breaking research ship.
The R/V Sikuliaq launches in October 2012 from Marinette, Wisconsin and arrives in Seward, Alaska in late 2013. This research vessel is owned by the National Science Foundation and operated by the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
