I have had good experiences with Dewalt's original folding retractable knife, and was curious to see if and how this new one was different.

I came across this one at a local store and bought it on impulse. I thought maybe it was an upgrade.

Maybe there were improvements over the 10-year-old model I no longer use?

It turns out there's one improvement, but two very serious downgrades.

I learned how to make the blade change process a little easier and more consistent, hopefully the tips help anyone that's stuck changing blades.
