As part of a national week of action, our officers have been particularly working hard to educate and talk to people about knife crime and dispel some of the myths around the topic.
Superintendent Sarah McAughtrie is the force lead for knife crime and serious violence, overseeing the day-to-day work being done to tackle and prevent this in Derbyshire as well as helping to coordinate efforts in the county during such campaigns.
To mark Operation Sceptre coming to an end, which has been running nationally since Monday (15 May), Supt McAughtrie took on some commonly asked questions about knife crime, talking about the who, what, why, where’s and when’s around knife crime, and also what we are doing to tackle it in Derbyshire.
