Here you have my SMArt-Customs latest commission custom figure from Hasbro's GI Joe 3 3/4" figure line. This started off with the Cobra BAT figure. He has the tell-tale characteristic of the original with a few modifications.

At first glance, you can see that his head has been replaced with a larger and more aerodynamic looking head. This was a request by the client for a head that resembled the Halo Covenant Locust head piece. A custom neck joint was cobbled together to add full articulation - allowing hm to look around the battlefield. The hand-sculpted head was created using Avis Sculpt. The smooth texture was achieved by using progressively finer sandpaper until it was right. Hand carved panels and details were added to give it a bit more depth.

The entire figure was repainted in a custom-mixed "slate grey" with blue and metallic added for a true robotic feel to him. The head was requested to be white with weathering as well. Special deep shading, highlighting, and weathering techniques were also applied through the body to show grease, grime, and hard scrapes. Very little color was requested on this figure so the few dabs of it really show up.

Being these figures are such small scale, it is important to highlight them correctly so each detail can be seen. The BAT remains fully articulated. A lot of fun to create something special to match a clients idea. It is what we do.
