Surah Falaq (Arabic text: الفلق) is the 113th Surah of the Qur'an. It is titled in English “dawn” or “day-break” and composed of 5 verses. The surah is often recited for protection from the evil of created beings, the darkness of night, those who practice witchcraft, and the envy of others. It is part of a pair with Surah An-Nas, with Al-Falaq providing protection from external evils and An-Nas from internal ones.
Al-Falaq means "The Daybreak" or "The Dawn." Surah Al-Falaq is the 113th chapter of the Quran and only consists of 5 ayats (verses) and emphasizes seeking refuge in Allah from the evils and harmful influences that may exist in the darkness of the night or in the form of envy, black magic, and evil whispers. Finding Insight: If one ponders over the meaning of the verses of Surah an Naas, then one sees that this Surah is also like Surah al Falaq where one asks for protection of Allah Almighty, however, in Surah an Naas the protection is from the evil whispers of Satan, the evil whispers of people and the Jinn.
