New Year celebrations around the world have not been without their accidents and unfortunately 2018 is no different.
Two people have been killed by fireworks in separate incidents in the German capital of Berlin.
At least five people had to go undergo amputations after suffering gruesome hand injuries in fireworks or firecracker mishaps.
In eastern Australia, thousands were forced to evacuate Terrigal Beach along the Central Coast after a barge caught fire when a canister exploded.
In Russia, celebrations went badly wrong when a giant Christmas tree caught fire in front of thousands of revelers, but luckily there were no injuries.
