We introduce row echelon form of a matrix, compare it with reduced row echelon form of a matrix, see several examples of reduced row echelon form matrices and row echelon matrices, and finish by using Gaussian elimination to transform a matrix into row echelon form. #linearalgebra
A matrix is in row echelon form if its zero rows are at the bottom, its nonzero rows have leading 1s, and each leading 1 is further right than the leading 1 above it.
