The Ever After Of Ashwin Rao was one of the finalists for the 2014 Scotiabank Giller Prize - the most lucrative literary prize in Canada. Written by Padma Viswanathan, the novel explores an event which happened twenty years ago. A bomb went off on Air India Flight 182, killing everyone aboard. Two suspects are finally set to stand trial and Ashwin Rao, a psychologist, is using those who lost loved ones as part of a study in "comparative grief." All their stories intertwine, creating a haunting and surprising exploration of how terrorism has long-lasting, rippling effects on politics and people.
