It can take years to achieve prominence and be considered famous. Sometimes not even within your own lifetime. It's not easy to condense all the candidates into this small group. By careful consideration, we put this list together. Clearly, we had to leave out many notable and worthy people. Maybe another list is coming?
Here is our list of the top 10 most famous people of all time.
Starting the list at number 10 is ARISTOTLE
One of the most significant individuals in history. He was the first scientist in human history. He worked with several of the greatest thinkers of his time, like Plato and Socrates. He was Alexander the Great’s teacher, founding his own school, The Lyceum.
Number 9. MAHATMA GANDHI
Gandhi was the first to speak out in support of nonviolent resistance. He created a viable route to liberation through peaceful protest in India. He wanted the liberation of all humanity, not only Indians.
Number 8. ABRAHAM LINCOLN
Lincoln led the world’s strongest country, and diligently led the U.S. during its bloodiest war – the American Civil War (1861 to 1865). He was not only known as the president that presered the union during the war, but also motivated millions around the world through his Gettysburg address. He served as the President of the U.S. until his assassination.
Number 7. SIR ISAAC NEWTON
Born on December 25, 1642, and is still regarded as one of the most famous and important scientists of all time, having a key role in the scientific revolution. As a natural philosopher, Isaac saw the universe in a whole new light, he exposed the principles of motion and gravity.
Number 6. LEONARDO DA VINCI
An artist, inventor, musician, sculptor, architect, cartographer, engineer, writer, geologist, botanist, mathematician, anatomist, scientist, and one of history’s greatest thinkers.
Number 5. ALBERT EINSTEIN
One of the rare people who was born with a brain. His work in mathematics, physics, and science made him become the most significant physicist of the last century.
Developing the most famous equation, “E = mc2.” Einstein, a Nobel laureate, devised the general theory of relativity, which described gravitational forces and helped him become the world’s most recognized person in contemporary physics.

Hitler’s ambition to become the world’s most powerful man was the main cause of World War II and the Holocaust. Arguably the most infamous person of the last century. School textbooks are full of Hitler legends. One of the most despised people on the planet. An idealistic German leader and the dictator of Nazi Germany.

Michael Jackson “The King of Pop.” Like him or not, Michael Jackson, the evolution of entertainment, smashed all of pop culture’s records, entertaining for almost four decades.
Number 2. Elvis Presley
An American singer and actor. The "King of Rock and Roll", regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. His energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines during a transformative era in race relations, led him to both great success and initial controversy.
And in the number one position is JESUS CHRIST
Words can’t explain who Jesus was and why people adore him. According to the four canonical gospels, he was born as the holy spirit from a virgin lady in the year A.D., the most beloved person on earth who ever existed. Referred to as “God’s Son.”
