Warringah MP Zali Steggall says Labor's 43 per cent emissions reduction target is “not a scientific target” but is instead a “political target”.
Ms Steggall said she had been elected for pushing a 60 per cent emissions reduction target by 2030.
“It’s very disingenuous to say you’re taking climate change seriously, but not listening to the science,” she told Sky News Australia.
“We have to be very clear; 43 per cent is a political target, it is not a scientific target.”
