Activists from across the country have been picked up following raids by the Pune Police in connection with violence in Maharashtra's Bhima Koregaon in January this year. Raids have been conducted at homes of activists and intellectuals in Delhi, Haryana, Mumbai, Ranchi and Hyderabad. While activist Sudha Bharadwaj was picked up from Faridabad, another activist Varavara Rao was arrested in Hyderabad. Activists Arun Fereira and Venon Gonsalves are also in custody.
