This is a short treatment outcome awareness video of a limb salvage surgery for bone cancer(sarcoma).

Osteosarcoma is an aggressive bone cancer. Multi-modality treatment is recommended with early initiation, which involves combination of chemotherapy and surgery. Large volume tumours pose a challenge to save the limb due to involvement of critical structures. Good response to chemotherapy plays an important role in limb salvage surgery in such situations.
This is short surgical outcome video of Osteosarcoma of distal femur in 14 year male who presented with an open biopsy contaminating the quadriceps mechanism. Inappropriately done biopsies are one of major causes of amputation, due to contamination. This young adult underwent tumor resection followed by reconstruction with cemented fixed hinge tumour prosthesis due to tumour volume and inferior bone quality. This modality of reconstruction enables walking from next day of surgery.
