Here are the DIY basics for assembling kitchen cabinets. Brought to you by Cabinets To Go.
Replacing old cabinets can make a dramatic improvement in a kitchen. Assembly of pre-finished cabinets is easier than you think. Start by laying the face frame on a soft surface. Side panels go on first. Lock the cams to hold them in place, then the body. Before you put on the back panel, install the drawer rail holders. The drawer slide rails go into the holders. Once the corner braces are in, you can slide the drawer into the rails.
To install the cabinets, find the high spot on the floor then mark a level line on the wall. Use shims to level the cabinet along the line before you screw it into the wall studs.
Last tip: when joining the remaining cabinets, drill holes in the face frame to prevent splitting.
