Are supermotos too slow? One question everyone ask you when you have a motorcycle is "how fast does it go?" And when they find out there moms minivan fast a high top speed they lose interest fast. Supermotos or Dual Sports or any single cylinder motorcycle for that matter are not going to be know for impressively high top speed. The engine characteristics are such that the motor makes most of its power at low to mid RPMs. So when you try to throw it way up in the rev range she ain't got a lot to give you. Just because they don't go fast doesn't mean they don't accelerate fast. With its lightweight, short gearing, and low end power they can pull quit good out the hole. That is if you can keep that front end down. And there always the argument that despite their "weak power" supermotos are the best bikes EVER. I could go on and on about that. Just watch my other videos and you'll see what I mean. Hey I went from an R1 to a drz400. About 5 times less power. I had more fun on the drz...
