Taline Papazian, a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California Institute of Armenian Studies, observes a split between Diasporan traditional institutions and the realities of the Armenian state. This split has been noticeable for many years but became more visible with the Velvet Revolution of 2018 in Armenia.
