Transport for London (TfL) is planning to raise e-scooter speed limits and lower the age requirement for riders, despite concerns over safety.
Currently, rental e-scooters in London are limited to 12.5mph, but TfL wants to increase this to 15.5mph, according to a London Councils report. The age limit for riders may also be lowered to 16, provided they have a provisional driving licence.
The report notes that changes can only happen once safety concerns with "geofencing" - which limits e-scooter speeds in certain areas,
