I like to use KnitPicks wool bare yarns [ Ссылка ] (Affiliate Link) when I am dyeing with food coloring. They offer many options of fiber content, washability, and yarn weight. You can buy yarn by the individual skein AND at a discount in 20 skein packages.
When you are dyeing yarn with food coloring, you want to pick protein based fibers like wool and silk. Cellulose fibers like cotton and syntetic fibers with acrylic will NOT dye well with food coloring. (Don't believe me? Checking out the following video: [ Ссылка ]) In most of my videos, I use KnitPicks Wool of the Andes (100% Peruvian Highland Wool) [ Ссылка ] or Stroll Fingering (75% superwash merino / 25% nylon) [ Ссылка ] and food coloring as the dye source. I haven't tested 100% nylon yet, but nylon blend yarns take up food coloring VERY well.
