Spoilers for Evoland: Legendary Edition
You start out in an 8-bit monochromatic world with barely any
movement options
As you continue to play, sounds and music are unlocked and
color which then upgrades to simulate a 256-color display
You then unlock an overworld with random turn-based battles.
The overworld then shifts to a mode 7 angle similar to SNES games
As you, explore you run into a village that does not want
to talk to your character because you look like a kid so you
then have to update your character model to the environment
You then get your first forced event in the overworld to get a party
member without choice
Together with your new companion, you fight the boss for plot
as you finally unlock 3d mode
