From the St Matthew Passion by J. S. Bach. The tune is originally by Hans Leo Hassler, written around 1600 for the secular song "Mein G'müt ist mir verwirret". The hymn lyrics were translated from Latin to German by Paul Gerhardt (1607--1676). As a hymn it is known as "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden" / "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded". Here they sing the Norwegian translation by Frederik Rostgaard (1738).
