The SmartPack can be set to cycle after a predetermined number of door openings and deposits. The photo eye sensor on the door can also be adjusted to control the distance required for a person to trigger the door opening. The convenient selector switch located inside the compactor allows you to set the size of your full waste cubes to be light, medium, or heavy. This puts you in complete control of taking out the trash!
Each SmartPack has a multi-color LED display on the front of the compactor to let you know when the machine is ready for use, compacting, or is full.
SmartPack works when a patron approaches the compactor, the automatic door opens, and they deposit their trash. The automatic door conveniently remains open until the photo eye recognizes that the customer has emptied the trash and walked away. SmartPack compacts according to the set cycle count until the waste cube is full. When the compactor is allowed to reach full, the red container full light will illuminate and the compaction platen will stop and lock in the down position, not allowing any additional trash deposits.
To empty the machine, wheel an empty SmartPack waste cube with a pre-inserted trash liner to the full compactor. Use the key to open the main cabinet. If the unit is full, use both hands to manually turn the controls to the “hand” and “up”settings. This will raise the platen and lock it in the “up” position. Pull the full cube out of the chamber , insert the empty cube with the strap facing outward, close and lock the door.
The Harmony SmartPack comes standard with the portable wheeled waste cube with a convenient pull strap to make emptying the compactor quick and effortless! Tie the top of the bag prior to transporting, and wheel the full cube to your outdoor waste compactor or dumpster for disposal.
Cleaning your SmartPack is also simple and safe. Use clean towels and a cleaning solution to wipe down both the interior and exterior of the machine. Be sure to follow the lock out tag out instructions in your User’s Manual prior to cleaning the ram or chamber.

Each SmartPack can be equipped with Harmony’s exclusive monitoring system. Insite is invisible technology inside of the compactor that lets you know exactly when your compactor is partially full, full, has the door left open. The Insite module inside of the compactor sends Email and/or SMS text messages to the janitorial staff so that the trash cube can be emptied on a “just-in-time” basis.
