Join the MOUNT SHASTA BIOREGIONAL ECOLOGY CENTER in their sixteen-year effort to protect the pristine Medicine Lake Highlands from industrialization. Situated 30 miles northeast of Mount Shasta, the Highlands include a 113-square-mile Native American Traditional Cultural District, held sacred by the Pit River Tribe and other Native peoples. This beautiful area is a vast caldera; it contains a lake, forests and wildlife, recreation areas and homes, and a huge underlying aquifer that is a critical source of reliable water for millions of people. All are at risk from a large-scale geothermal development. If built, this corporate complex will devastate pristine Medicine Lake and severely compromise one of California's most significant sources of water.
