Topical coating removal methods vary as the system does. Single coat thin-mil finishes can usually be removed by diamond grinding alone. Multi-layer systems, resin or cement based, may also easily grind clean. For the ones that turn out to be more stingy than expected, it’s best to arrive prepared.
The video starts with a floor that consists of an engineered cement topping covered by 10 mils of polyaspartic. The polyaspartic isn’t all that thick, and the topping should grind easy enough. A two segment diamond step is attempted to clean it. As is shown the two seg goes slow, and isn’t able to cut through the bulk. Switching to PCD tools, the bulk of the coating is removed. Then it’s easy enough to get the rest by two seg.
