For many new and learning drivers, merging onto a freeway or interstate can be scary. If the acceleration lane is short use some of the on-ramp to get the vehicle up to speed. As you're coming out onto the on-ramp, pick your spot on the highway and aim for that spot. If there's a semi-truck beside the acceleration lane, merge in behind that semi-truck for the best defensive posturing.
