54% of Kenyans lack confidence in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct free and fair elections. This is according to a new survey by Infotrak with respondents citing lack of transparency and corruption among officials as major concerns undermining trust in the commission. Additionally, 33% of Kenyans believe that regardless of the vote outcome, the government-backed candidate is likely to be declared the winner. The findings come amid growing calls for the reconstitution of the IEBC.
