The statistics are alarming: Over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States annually and every 10 seconds, a new case is reported to authorities. To put it into terms that we can all understand, almost 5 children die every day as a result of child abuse. Most of these children are under the age of 4. Experts predict that the numbers could grow even higher due to the financial pressures that many families are experiencing in the current economic climate.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and as part of our efforts to raise awareness throughout the community, Childrens Memorial Hermann Hospital, in collaboration with the Child Abuse Resource and Education (CARE) Center at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, is asking you to share this blue ribbon with others in honor those who have been victims of child abuse.
Please share this note and help Children's Memorial Hermann Spread Awareness!!!
