Melasma is a hyperpigmentation of particular areas of your face.

The depth matters, and if the pigment is deeper, then Tx results can be more challenging. This is determined at your visit with a Wood's Lamp.

Compliance with treatment is key. I use a combination of Rx with in office treatments such as chemical peels.

Rx:
✔️Azelaic Acid 15% is great for all skin types and pregnancy safe.
✔️TXA is amazing as an Tx cream, and I Rx oral TXA for deep melasma for those ppl without contraindications.
✔️Hydroquinone can be challenging as you don't want to overuse as it can cause permanent pigmentation.
✔️Tretinoin is a must for acceleration of skin cell turnover.

The right cleanser, antioxidant think Vitamin C or Herbal Face Food, moisturizer, and SPF think Iron Oxide is essential.

Not overheating the skin is a must.
