The Asom Chah Mazdoor Sangha organised a protest rally today carried out a massive protest rally today in Dibrugarh. The protest rally was held at the Mancotta ground in Dibrugarh while putting forth several demands of the organisation for the betterment of the tea garden community of the state. The main demand of the ACMS is increase in the daily wages of the workers to Rs 351.
Their other demands include demand for Scheduled Tribe status to the tea garden community, demand for proper health care system and sanitization facilities for the workers and their families, among others. The protestors stated that their stir would intensify if these demands are not met and they would even target the ministers, MLAs and MLAs from the tea garden community over these issues.
