The Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference is opening its annual session in Beijing. The meeting, which along with the National People’s Congress (NPC) that begins in the capital on March 5, are known as the “two sessions”. Thousands of the nation’s political elite and lawmakers have gathered in the capital and a focus of the NPC meeting will be Premier Li Qiang’s presentation of his first government work report.
