I finally ticked one off the drone bucket list. Above the fog!!!
Then on landing I experienced a few bum clench moments.
When I took off I only had 27% battery, but I was in a rush so I thought it wouldn't take long.
I'd only gone straight up, so I was bringing it straight down to where it took off.
Down it came and I could hear it coming, then I could see it. Suddenly it starts to ascend despite be having full down. It may have triggered a RTH for a low battery, but it was still above the home point?
After much wrestling the controls, with no effect ( it was like I'd lost complete control over it) I pressed the cancel button I managed to cancel this and descended again. I was trying to get it above the landing site avoiding a car and wall and suddenly it shot up again. I again managed to get it to descend and above the landing area, pulled to come down and it didn't detect the ground and nearly slammed into it, I let go of the stick just in time. It then tried to ascend again but I managed to catch it and get it on the ground, but the rotors didn't stop. As soon as I let the stick center, it tried to take off again, I pulled it down, but had to hold for several seconds before the rotors stopped.
I would have gone up for a second look with a full battery, but was kind of nervous after this!
