We are developing a training phantom in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. One of the tasks that will be realized for educational purposes will be multi-target stereotactic guidance in stereo EEG. In such an operation using various equipment: frames, frameless navigation and stereotactic robots, a diagnostic electrode is placed in different areas of the brain in order to search for an epileptic focus. Given the large number of trajectories, it is very important for the surgeon to plan each trajectory so as not to hit brain vessels and functionally important areas. In our phantom it will be possible to plan and perform a training surgery with any number of trajectories using stereotactic equipment available in clinics. Today we demonstrate our developments in a prototype device for multi-target stereotactic guidance. The phantom use the technology of the open source 3D slicer software product for navigated surgery.
