Cuban President Fidel Castro on Saturday (16/11) criticised a UN food summit in Rome for ignoring the full dimensions of suffering that hunger is causing worldwide.

Why are criminal policies and absurd blockades that include food and medicines being added ... with the purpose of annihilating whole populations out of hunger and diseases, he said. Where is the respect for the most basic human rights and the common sense of such policies, he added.
